Resilient communications
Voice, data and command relay that stays up when ground links are jammed or blocked by terrain.
HOVR · Stratospheric relay node
HOVR is designed to restore communications, navigation and precise timing over contested ground: overhead within minutes of tasking, on station for hours, and owned by the nation that flies it.
The problem
Every force has sensors now. Under jamming, what fails first is the link, the position and the clock.
Denied
Jamming and spoofing now cover whole theatres. Receivers lose their fix, radio networks lose the shared clock they synchronise on, and drones lose their link and their location at the same time.
Units trail kilometres of fibre-optic cable behind their drones to keep one link the enemy cannot jam. That is what a dependable link is worth.
No fix
Introducing HOVR
HOVR holds station in the stratosphere and restores communications, navigation and timing across an entire area of operations, for every unit inside its footprint at once.
Coverage acquiredModelled design performance
On station per sortie, holding position.
Covered by a single node.
Stronger than GPS at the receiver.
From order to coverage overhead.
Why it holds
A jammer on the ground reaches a receiver from near the horizon, the direction an upward-looking antenna hears worst. HOVR transmits from almost directly overhead, the direction it hears best.
More jammer power raises the interference slowly. It does not change the angle the interference arrives from.
Link holding
Illustrative. Extra jammer power raises interference only slowly, because it still arrives from the horizon.
What it delivers
Every user inside the footprint is served at once, from the same aircraft, with no masts to raise and no cable to lay.
Voice, data and command relay that stays up when ground links are jammed or blocked by terrain.
A position reference broadcast from a known point overhead, for forces and systems that have lost satellite navigation.
A low-rate timing signal that keeps radio networks, encryption and coordinated fires in step. It is the last service to fail.
A jam-resistant control and navigation layer that keeps your own drones connected and located.
Operating concept
Tasked by the unit that needs it and deployed on demand from behind friendly lines. No runway, no airfield.
Takes up station over the area of operations within minutes of tasking.
Holds position for hours, serving every user in the footprint at once.
Returns, is recovered and turned around, and flies again.
Scale
Add nodes to widen the area covered, and rotate them to keep coverage continuous. Each one is owned, tasked and flown by the nation that fields it.
